Off Leash Created by: Hannah Hirschberg Made possible by support from: Signature Medical Spa & Albemarle Dermatology Associates One dog, two Virginias. Artist Hannah Hirschberg transformed this Labrador into two complete Virginia landscapes in a single piece. Turn him one way and you’ll find rolling green vineyard rows stretching toward distant mountains beneath a soft blue sky. Turn him the other way and the scene becomes a Blue Ridge sunset, with layered peaks in deep blue silhouette beneath a warm sky of orange and yellow. Inspired by Charlottesville—the place that shaped Hirschberg’s own journey and creativity—Off Leash celebrates the beauty of exploring, wandering, and making memories in the place we call home. What makes this statue especially unique is that there’s no single “front.” From one direction, it captures the peaceful beauty of Virginia wine country; from the other, it evokes the dramatic colors of a Blue Ridge sunset. Place it in a garden, on a patio, or in a special spot where you can enjoy both views, depending on which way you’re walking. For anyone who loves Charlottesville, the Blue Ridge Mountains, or simply the feeling of setting out to see where the path leads, Off Leash is a one-of-a-kind piece with a story waiting on every side.
