Inspired by eight unforgettable years of woodland walks with her dog, Ella, artist Karen Eide transformed this Labrador into a colorful celebration of nature, memory, and the special bond we share with our dogs. As Ella explored the trails, Karen collected botanicals along the way, bringing them home and transforming them into art. Those years of walks and discoveries now live on in Fern, with colorful ferns, leaves, and flowers flowing across the Labrador’s sleek black coat. The contrast between the deep black background and vibrant botanical details makes Fern especially striking. Look closely and you’ll find a garden of color woven across the entire sculpture, capturing the feeling of wandering through the woods and noticing something beautiful along the way. Fern would make a distinctive addition to a garden, porch, home, or business—a one-of-a-kind piece that celebrates both the beauty of the natural world and the memories we make alongside our dogs.
