Invisible Disability Awareness Created by: Laura Lee Gulledge Made possible by support from: Homebase Credit Union The sunflower is an international symbol of invisible disabilities, including autism and diabetes—conditions for which Service Dogs of Virginia trains life-changing partners. Artist Laura Lee Gulledge covered this Labrador nose-to-tail in golden sunflowers on a rich teal coat, creating a vibrant and meaningful celebration of people living with challenges that may not be visible at first glance. The words “Invisible Disability Awareness” are woven directly into the design, making the message an integral part of the artwork. This striking sculpture is a reminder that not every challenge can be seen and that our differences deserve to be recognized, appreciated, and celebrated in all their beauty. With its bold colors and powerful message, it would make a meaningful statement piece in a home, office, or business.
