Mushrooms at Midnight Created by: Sigrid Eilertson Made possible by support from: The Ivy Group A whole forest, painted after dark. Artist Sigrid Eilertson transformed this Labrador into an enchanting woodland scene beneath a deep midnight-blue sky. Stars dust the back, while a glowing full moon rises over the shoulder and a galaxy-inspired face turns upward to meet it. Along the body, a woodland floor unfolds in layers of ferns, trailing vines, and mushrooms in a stunning range of colors—from scarlet toadstools with white caps to pale blue-gray clusters, golden chanterelles, and delicate purple blooms. The botanical details give the piece the look and feel of a nature illustration brought to life on a life-sized Labrador. Inspired by the artist’s own woodland walks with her chihuahuas, Mushrooms at Midnight captures the quiet magic of discovering an entire little world tucked beneath the trees. It’s a statement piece that invites you to slow down and look closer, revealing new details from every angle. Imagine this one-of-a-kind Labrador tucked into a garden bed, shaded corner, or special spot in your yard. With its glowing moon, colorful mushrooms, and richly detailed woodland landscape, Mushrooms at Midnight would bring a little bit of enchanted Virginia woodland home with you.
