Shenandoah Created by: Melanie L. Spalding Made possible by support from: Muse Vineyards Every inch of Shenandoah has something to discover. Artist Melanie L. Spalding created this Labrador as a tribute to the beauty and biodiversity of the Shenandoah Valley. The head and ears are painted in a deep, star-filled indigo, while the sky-blue body becomes a living landscape filled with wildlife and native flora. Look closely and you’ll find a trout leaping through the current, an owl watching from the branches, a cardinal perched beside a coiling snake, and a fox tucked low in the grass. Thistle, jack-in-the-pulpit, honeysuckle, and wild mushrooms weave between the animals, creating a richly detailed scene that rewards a closer look. This is a piece you can keep discovering. Every section reveals another animal, plant, or small detail, making Shenandoah just as engaging from across the room as it is up close. For anyone who loves the Shenandoah Valley, this one-of-a-kind Labrador offers a chance to bring a little piece of its landscape home. Display it in a garden, on a porch, in a home, or in a business and let it become a conversation piece for years to come.
